After a break from the Runner’s World Magazine forums I’ve gone back in for a look and started reading a thread on the Snowdonia Marathon. Some great stories there but the best thing I’ve found is a plan for pacing for a Sub 5 based on people’s experience of the course.
I might adopt this.
- Miles 1-5 11:30
- Miles 6-13 10:30
- Miles 14-22 11:30
- Miles 23-24 15:45
- Miles 25-26.2 11:00
I may be able to go faster at some points – who knows – but this seems realistic for a first time attampt.
