Swansea Half Marathon

Training for the Swansea Half Marathon continues with week 5 of training coming to an end. 5 runs this week of varying distances and speeds. Tempo/speed and hill runs throughout the week topped off by a no-pace 10k this evening on very tired legs. 23 miles completed this week.

I’m aiming for a sub-2 half marathon but it’s going to take an effort to do that. My fastest half is 2:09 (Llanelli) so I have 9 minutes to make up. I doubt I will do it this time but next week my pacing changes and the final 3/4 weeks are to be run faster. We’ll see how it goes.

I’m looking forward to taking part in the SHM again. Last years was good, but this years is going to be bigger and better.

I’ve also been looking at future Marathons. I’m was tempted to run Chester again in October but instead I’ve been considering the new Bristol to Bath Marathon – again in October.

In other news – I’ve entered the London Marathon ballot. Fingers crossed but I’ve heard 127,000 have entered this year so the odds are small.

Until the next time……
