ASICS 26.2: Week 4 Ends (Another PB Week)

Week 4 has come to an end with another personal best at the Llyn Llech Owan parkrun. What a feeling it was to knock 80 seconds off my previous time of three weeks ago (28:02). I clocked 26:42 for the course. It was cold and tough breathing, but I’ve not run that fast in a long time. Absolutely brilliant.

Anyway, here are my times and other information for last week:

Monday 6 January

  • Training Distance: 4M Easy
  • Actual Distance: 3.73
  • Actual Time: 38.46
  • Average Pace: 10:24/mi
  • Splits: 10:37 – 9:58 – 10:17

Tuesday 7 January

  • Circuit Training – Missed this as I wasn’t feeling brilliant after first day back in work. Was shattered.

Wednesday 8 January

  • Training Distance: 6M of 1M jog, then 4M at half-marathon pace (HMP) then 1M jog
  • Actual Distance: 6.04
  • Actual Time: 1:02:10
  • Average Pace: 10:18/mi
  • Splits: 11:09 – 10:03 – 9:49 – 10:06 – 10:19 (watch went funny – but I was faster than I needed to be)

Thursday 9 January

  • Rest Day

Friday 10 January

  • Training Distance: 4M steady
  • Actual Distance: 4.19
  • Actual Time: 39.35
  • Average Pace: 9:26/mi
  • Splits: 9:34 – 9:12 – 9:26 – 9:37

Saturday 11 January

  • Training Distance: 5k parkrun
  • Actual Distance: 3.09
  • Actual Time: 26.24 (according to Garmin) / 26.42 (according to Llyn Llech Owain)
  • Average Pace: 8:33/mi
  • Splits (Garmin) : 8:36 – 8:29 – 8:31

Sunday 12 January

  • Training Distance: 3M Easy
  • Actual Distance: 3.55
  • Actual Time: 36.18
  • Average Pace: 10:13/mi
  • Splits: 10:06 – 10:18 – 9:55

There was no long run this week and the Saturday parkrun figures are based on the Garmin watch except where noted.
