Swansea 10K / Cardiff Half Marathon
Now that I’ve been running for just two years I’m happy to start entering events. My only previous events were the 2012 Ammanford 10K and a 5K Park Run at Tredegar House (Newport). The Ammanford 10K was a shambles for me but thoroughly enjoyable. The 5K Park run was brilliant and a lot of fun.
I missed the 2013 Ammanford 10K due to lack of running and pure lazyness.
In September I will be running the Admiral Swansea Bay 10K with some colleagues from work. It should be fun. I’ve been told it’s a nice flat 10K (unlike the Ammanford 10k). I’m not the fastest runner but am aiming for 55 minutes.
In October I will be entering the Cardiff Half Marathon. This one I am not looking forward to but training has started with this weeks Black Mountain hill runs. My time for this is under 2hr 30mins. – again not the fastest but it’s taking part that counts.
I am running both races for charity and following a discussion with a family member I’ve decided to raise money for CISS: Cancer Information and Support Services. A local charity. You can read more about them here.
