Training Update @marathon_mcr @running #ukrunchat @runningblogs @asics_fr @RunWales
Week 7 into the training plan for Manchester and it’s all going well. The sponsorship deal I wanted to work out with Armstrong Health didn’t quite happen – but never mind. It was an idea that didn’t pan out.
So what has been happening?
Training had been going well up to Week 6. I managed to complete a parkrun with a good time and just 19 seconds outside my PB from 2014. Happy with that. I also managed to run a 13 miler during week 4 so all has been good off the back of the Snowdonia run.
This week (week 6) has been frustrating. I’ve been full of cold, aches and joint pains so running has been put on stop. Nothing. Nada. It’s been so annoying but the energy has not been there. So really there is nothing to report on the training front for last week.
What other news is out there:
@AsicsFrontRunner : I’ve applied to be an Asics Frontrunner. So have millions of other people so I doubt I will get in. I don’t think a slightly round, middle aged bloke that runs is the image Asics will want – but you never know.
Trainers: Finally bought some new trainers. I decided in the end not to spend £150 on the Nimbus 19. Instead I opted for the Nimbus 17 at the Asics Outlet Store in Bridgend. They are good enough.
@RunWales : I’ve also started blogging in Welsh for Run Wales – Wales’ Premier Running Support group. I’m not really very good at writing blog posts in Welsh, but have a pop over anyway for some good advice from other bloggers.
That is it for this week. Quite boring really. Hopefully Week 7 will be a bit better and help improve my mood.
